INTRO
"Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein was one of my favorite books to read as a kid. The poems and illustrations seemed like they came from a place of pure fun and imagination. They were innocent and simple.
Revisiting this book as an adult yields different feelings. It's deep and thought provoking. It makes me miss the blissful ignorance of being a child as I realize how different my reality is now as an adult.
In this book, "Where the Light Leaks In," I juxtapose my recent mental health journey with the writings of Shel Silverstein to create a link between my current self and my past self. Sometimes you have to revisit your childhood to heal as an adult.
